Press Event: Louis Motorrad opens their first shop in the Netherlands!

On the 1st of March, Louis Motorrad invited me to join them during the opening of their first store in the Netherlands. Being the biggest European company in motorcycle gear, parts and accessories, I of course could not resist on going there to take a look!

Our day (yes, R1dingRooster was there with me too) started off relaxed. We arrived at the Louis MEGAshop in Tilburg at 12:00PM and before we got to take a look around, Louis informed us about their business and what the day was going to be like.

Let’s start of with a little bit of information about Louis Motorrad – I’m going to be totally honest with you guys, I had heard of Louis Motorrad in the past, but I really didn’t know they were THIS big!

– actual representation of my reaction –

The first shop, called Lohmann & Louis, opened in the year 1938 in Hamburg, Germany. After 8 years, Detlev Louis became the owner of the company – a company that was  foremost focused on importing new and used vehicles. Fast forward to 2019: Louis Motorrad has more than 80 (!) stores, located in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and since the 1st of March, also in the Netherlands. Their concept exists of staff that is well trained (yes, each staff member gets a training and boy – the staff I spoke to knew EVERYTHING about any possible motorcycle clothing brand), but also out of multiple “shop” options, being “FUNshop”, “MEGAshop” or a 1500m2 “GIGAstore”!

The shop opened in Tilburg is a so called “MEGAshop” – a shop filled with biker gear; clothes, helmets and a lot of accessories! I was quite amazed about the amount of products in the shop. Louis does not only sell the “well known” brands of motorcycle gear, but they also have their own brands, being: Vanucci, AJS, Probiker, Cafe Racer, Nihua and MTR. Since I have never heard of those brands, I got to choose some gear to test it out for you guys – so be ready for the upcoming reviews about my Louis gear.

I did test out my Vanucci Competizione IV leather jacket while practising my first wheelies with Jo Bauer! WHOOO how fun was that! I was so proud of myself that I did like 4 or 5 mini wheelies. Normally, a wheelie training takes a day, but I accomplished doing my wheelies in less than 20 minutes, so yeah… #proud

Well, I think I have well informed you all about Louis Motorrad and what they do and sell! If you’re interested in checking out their range of products, go visit www.louis.nl and take a look around – or go visit their brand new store at Kraaivenstraat 28, in Tilburg.

Until next time!

Review: TCX biker boots

Review: TCX biker boots

Casual gear means casual boots. I have been searching for them for a while, and these are THE ONES you really need!

I own a pair of Sidi Cobra boots which I combine with my leather suit, but I also have a pair of Dainese sneakers. Since I don’t like the Dainese sneakers (they are too tight, get dirty quick and they don’t let me walk or ride easy), I thought of getting new boots to match my Bull-It jeans.

I instantly fell in love with the clean, black biker boots by TCX. I have owned such sort boots in the past, but they were the ‘girl nextdoor’ biker boots which didn’t have any protection at all (meant for fashion, not function). So when I saw these boots, I immediately checked all features needed to be functional.

The boots have:

  • Thick soles
  • Hard, rubber soles
  • A harder tip at the nose
  • Non-slip laces
  • Golden accents

The boots are also true to size – I wear a size EU40. They are extremely comfortable, and… they are SO comfortable that I also tend to wear them when I’m not even riding! So instead of  buying another pair of ‘fake’ biker boots, here you have your two in one. Next to being a fashionable yet protective fit for the female bikers, TCX also has a great collection of casual bikerboots for men. Check out TCX’s full collection via: http://www.tcxboots.com/

Do you also wear casual bikerboots? If yes, which ones are your favorite? Let me know!

Until next time,

New in: Cardo Packtalk Slim

Ah, the year 2019. A year in which robots will take over the world and we all bec… Nah, I’m kidding.

Living in the year 2019 means that we have to deal with a a lot of technological developments. Smartphones, the internet, motorcycles with cool technical features (but do we use them tho) and… one of the biggest things: the social network!

Our social network is so easy to reach nowadays, we can send someone on the other side of the world a text message within seconds. But this technology needed to be translated to motorcycle users too. Meaning: intercoms!

Some people like it, others don’t; either way, being able to stay connected to your phone and/or the squad you’re riding with, is something that I do prefer. I find it easy to be in contact with Riding Rooster whenever we are riding around. This way, I can annoy him with my bla-bla-bla and to be honest, he likes it even tho he says he doesn’t (I know you do.).

But all jokes aside, it’s easy to be able to communicate with your squad whenever you are planning a two person (or more) trip! So, what will happen when I’m almost out of fuel and I REALLY need to get some..?

The answer to that is provided to me via my friends at Cardo Systems!

Cardo Systems is #1 market leader in intercoms, and they have send me (and Riding Rooster) a set of the Cardo Packtalk SLIM. For your information, we both have owned a Packtalk for quite a while, nowadays known as the “BOLD” version. Our personal preference was to try out the Cardo Packtalk SLIM, because it’s lightweight, much smaller than the BOLD version and it does the same things as well.

Now, let me tell you some specifications of the Cardo Packtalk SLIM:

  1. You can connect with up to 15 (!) riders
  2. It is only 6.5mm thick
  3. It has the longest real life range; that means that you’re able to communicate even when someone is 1000 meters in front of you.
  4. You can connect your phone with ease, meaning that you can get calls & listen to music.
  5. Automatic Volume: The volume will automatically adjust to the noise outside
  6. 13 hours talk time (after one full charge)
  7. It’s IP67 Waterproof

Now, these are just a few specifications which are implemented in the Cardo Packtalk SLIM. Not that I ever ride in rain (hate that), but you can’t spell Netherlands without ‘rain’.

So having an intercom that you don’t have to worry about whenever the weather gods decide to pour rain, that’s amazing! This was also the reason for me to buy a Cardo Packtalk a couple of years ago, because it’s competitors are not waterproof nor are they as sleek in design as Cardo.

I haven’t installed the Cardo Packtalk SLIM yet, but I will keep you up-to-date on my Instagram channel. Make sure to follow me! A review about the Cardo Packtalk SLIM will be live soon, after I have installed and tested this bad boy.

Do you have a communication system and if yes, which one? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time,
Beauty Biker
