On the 1st of March, Louis Motorrad invited me to join them during the opening of their first store in the Netherlands. Being the biggest European company in motorcycle gear, parts and accessories, I of course could not resist on going there to take a look!
Our day (yes, R1dingRooster was there with me too) started off relaxed. We arrived at the Louis MEGAshop in Tilburg at 12:00PM and before we got to take a look around, Louis informed us about their business and what the day was going to be like.
Let’s start of with a little bit of information about Louis Motorrad – I’m going to be totally honest with you guys, I had heard of Louis Motorrad in the past, but I really didn’t know they were THIS big!
– actual representation of my reaction –
The first shop, called Lohmann & Louis, opened in the year 1938 in Hamburg, Germany. After 8 years, Detlev Louis became the owner of the company – a company that was foremost focused on importing new and used vehicles. Fast forward to 2019: Louis Motorrad has more than 80 (!) stores, located in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and since the 1st of March, also in the Netherlands. Their concept exists of staff that is well trained (yes, each staff member gets a training and boy – the staff I spoke to knew EVERYTHING about any possible motorcycle clothing brand), but also out of multiple “shop” options, being “FUNshop”, “MEGAshop” or a 1500m2 “GIGAstore”!
The shop opened in Tilburg is a so called “MEGAshop” – a shop filled with biker gear; clothes, helmets and a lot of accessories! I was quite amazed about the amount of products in the shop. Louis does not only sell the “well known” brands of motorcycle gear, but they also have their own brands, being: Vanucci, AJS, Probiker, Cafe Racer, Nihua and MTR. Since I have never heard of those brands, I got to choose some gear to test it out for you guys – so be ready for the upcoming reviews about my Louis gear.
I did test out my Vanucci Competizione IV leather jacket while practising my first wheelies with Jo Bauer! WHOOO how fun was that! I was so proud of myself that I did like 4 or 5 mini wheelies. Normally, a wheelie training takes a day, but I accomplished doing my wheelies in less than 20 minutes, so yeah… #proud
Well, I think I have well informed you all about Louis Motorrad and what they do and sell! If you’re interested in checking out their range of products, go visit www.louis.nl and take a look around – or go visit their brand new store at Kraaivenstraat 28, in Tilburg.
Until next time!
